Economic activity continues to grow in line with the increasing mobility and activity of the community during the economic recovery period due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has an impact on the constant growth in domestic and global demand which encourages the growth of domestic and foreign trade. It can be seen from the cumulative exports of Jakarta which have been continued to grow positively since the second quarter of 2021. Jakarta’s cumultaives exports in April 2022 were recorded at US$ 4,0 milyar, increased by 4.4 percent compared to the same period the previous year. Despite this, exports in April 2022 contracted slightly by 2.4 percent compared to the previous month (m-to-m). In the midst of declining exports, the four main commodities still showed positive performance. The four commodities were animal or vegetable fats and oils, miscellaneous chemical products, articles of apparel and clothing accessories (knitted); and fish, crustaceans and mollusca. In line with export growth (m-to-m), exports in April which was compared to the same month in the previous year, also contracted by 1.5 percent. This was triggered by the decline in six main commodities. They were various chemical products, vehicles and their parts, soap and cleaning preparations, precious metals and jewelry/precious stones, electrical machinery and equipment and mollusk.
