Release Date : June 16, 2022
File Size : 2.51 MB

Abstract

In the second month of 2022, Jakarta’s hotel industry was still going through difficult times. The low season phase at the beginning of the year was exacerbated by the outbreak of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 case, which caused Jakarta’s status of the public activity restrictions or PPKM to be raised to PPKM level 3. Thus, the Jakarta hotel industry was unable to maintain the achievement of the occupancy rate in the previous month.
Jakarta star hotels occupancy rate fell by 6.2 percentage points to 46.1 percent in February 2022. Furthermore, the composition of guests staying at Jakarta star hotels this month consists of 4.8 percent of foreign guests and 95.2 percent of Indonesian guests. In general, this condition was better than in February last year.
On the other hand, the star hotel’s average length of stay in February 2022 remained stable compared to the previous month. However, the RLMT for star hotels dropped by 0.27 days to 2.09 days compared to February 2021 (y-on-y).
