Abstract

Jakarta's inflation in November was recorded at 0.27 percent, higher than 0.19 percent in the same month in the previous year. Likewise, compared to the 0.01 percent inflation in the previous month, this month's inflation is much higher. Chicken meat is one of the main causes of inflation. If in the previous month the share of chicken meat was -0.04 percent, in November the share of broiler chicken was 0.11 percent and it was the highest share. The fluctuation in the price of broiler chicken greatly affects inflation in Jakarta because chicken meat is mostly consumed by residents of Jakarta. Apart from chicken meat, air transportation with a 0.06 percent share is the second highest cause of inflation. Inflation in air transport occurs as the number of air transport users increases again. Public trust in safety rules and health protocols that were strictly enforced by air transportation during the COVID-19 pandemic made people not hesitate to return to travel using air transportation. The next commodity that has contributed the highest to inflation is red chilies. With a 0.02 percent share, red chilies are still among the commodities causing the highest inflation, the same as the previous month.
